Why

For many years, companies and public authorities involved in logistics  at are anticipated to deliver smart and sustainable multimodal transport and movement of goods. Digitalisation provides a window of opportunities for seamless data flow management in logistics and smart mobility applications in transport. Both public and private sector parties can benefit. However, major bottlenecks have prevented this from materializing. The basic bottlenecks are:

• no common language -due to non-coherence of standards and silo use of standards per transport domain,
• insufficient interoperability, including a fragmented legal base and
• a vulnerable level playing field. Big companies, including platforms, increasingly constitute a threat for SME’s to access to open source data.

From 2019-March 2024, FEDeRATED has  develop the operational framework to structurally solve these bottlenecks through decentraized data sharing. See products
